Magnum Trailer & Equipment, a manufacturer and service provider for heavy duty trucks and trailers, recently produced 150 light reflector panels and 59 motor grader panels for Canada’s Fort Garry Industries (FGI).

The company said the new equipment will help FGI ensure its winter highway maintenance contractors meet the new Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure (MOTI) regulations. Every winter maintenance vehicle that operates on British Columbia highways now must comply with new Schedule 11 standards for lighting regulations, which are designed to unify the appearance of all snow plows across Canada, regardless of province or vehicle make and model.

FGI supplies “hundreds” of plows and spreaders every year for snow and ice removal throughout Western Canada.

“We partnered with Magnum to utilize their aluminum expertise to produce a panel that was not only lighter weight than other manufacturers, but durable as well,” said Steve Van Ysseldyk, OE sales/branch manager for FFGI. “We are also using a stainless steel aerofoil for strength and rigidity.”

Magnum’s rig-out department does a variety of accessory installations, truck body builds and frame shortening and lengthening, as well as designing and installing a variety of hydraulic systems.

“Reflector panels are vital to the visibility of all snow plows in poor winter conditions, which is why our new panels have been designed and manufactured to outperform in extreme conditions,” said Joe Muzyka, vice president of operations for Magnum.
